Close Combat brings together the classic top-down tactical gameplay from the original series and plenty of new features, expansions, and improvements! These remakes give newcomers and veterans to the series alike a vastly improved and expanded version of the original Close Combat experience.
All of the Strategic level games (WaR,tLD, LSA) come with brand new Grand Campaigns including new strategic maps with 64 gorgeous hand-drawn tactical maps, over 70 scenarios, tons of new interface and unit graphics, countless engine improvements, and much more!
Close Combat: Cross of Iron, brings back the award-winning classic in new epic battles of the Eastern Front of World War II. Take command of German or Soviet Battle Groups during WWII as you face the strength of the enemy war machine in a Grand Campaign giving you both the original and all new battles and operations that will test your tactical mettle.
Close Combat: Modern Tactics, Developed from the United States Marine Corps training simulation, Close Combat: Marines, you take command of modern US forces or various opposition forces in one of 25 scenarios included with the release.
Engage in combat with with up to 5 players per side and participate in intense head to head battles using Modern Era weaponry and equipment on gorgeous hand-drawn maps measuring from 1km square to giant 4km x 1km maps. Fight on hypothetical battlefields ranging in style from backwoods America to the streets of Iraq and the former Soviet republics. You face all the enemy can throw at you in a series of immersive, action-packed engagements that will test your tactical abilities! Air and artillery support are on-call but the final objective can only be secured by Close Combat.
A best of breed scenario editor is also included, making it easy to setup your own battles with modern opposing forces.
In Close Combat: Wacht am Rhein, you take command of US or German forces and either retrace the last steps of Hitler’s army in one desperate attempt to turn the tide of the impending allied victory or ride to the rescue with General Patton and push back the German offensive to reclaim Bastogne.
WaR features a huge 64 map strategic layer where you get to test your operational level skills at level never before offered in the Close Combat series.
In Close Combat: The Longest Day you take command of either the Allied Expeditionary Force or Germany’s Wehrmacht. You will either carry out the world’s largest amphibious invasion to liberate Europe from Nazi occupation or defend Hitler’s Atlantic Wall!
tLD comes with expanded force pools, support for much larger maps, night battles with simulated flare effects, and more! Also included in this release are 60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a Grand Campaign that encompasses all of the D-Day combatants and landing areas, as well as "classic" CC5 style Grand Campaign available for download!
Close Combat: Last Stand Arnhem is s further enhancement of the Close Combat series with a revised path finder and Strategic level additions such as Battlegroup stacking. Although the title suggests otherwise this release encompasses the full Operation Market Garden including all the airbourne landings and the drive by XXX corps to relieve the beleagured paratroops. This is the most ambitious and feature rich version of the new Close Combat releases.
